General: 

What birth/death certificates can be found at village hall?

The Village has birth and death certificates for births and deaths that occurred within village boundaries.

Where do I get a marriage license or a copy of one?

The Village does not issue or have copies of marriage licenses.

Where can I get a dog license?

The Village does not issue dog licenses; contact Town of Oyster Bay at (516) 624-6329.

 Building/Code:

When do I need a permit?

If a permit is not listed under the link above: “Permits and Apps”, call the Building Department at (516)249-0093 ext.301 to determine if you need a permit.

Who handles property boundary disputes?

The Village does not handle property boundary disputes.

Are all contractors required to obtain a local license from the village?

No, we take licenses from Nassau Country, Town of Oyster Bay, Town of Babylon, etc.

What are the rules regarding construction/landscaping hours?

Construction hours are M-F 7AM-6PM, Sat. 9AM-5PM

Landscaping hours are M-Sat. 8AM-7:30PM

No construction companies or landscapers are allowed to work on Sunday. A resident is allowed to work on their own home.

 

Court:

How do I pay for my tickets?

In person you may pay by cash, check, or credit card for all tickets. There is a fee for credit card use when making payments online- available at the link below. Ticket payments are for parking tickets only, not moving violations/Nassau County tickets.

Court is by appointment only.

The Village Court does not handle small claims.

Railroad:

When do I need a RR permit?

M-F 4AM-4PM, not on holidays

How do I get a daily pass?

Residents and non-residents can buy a daily pass for a fee at Village Hall. Remember to bring your registration or know your license plate number, and the specific days you want to park at the railroad. There is a limit of 10 passes per transaction.
